NPR: Analyzing Barack Obama's World View

People who live in America usually have no idea about what it means to live in the rest of the world, on the other end of America's gun barrel. One thing these non-Americans (as opposed to un-Americans) tell me is that it doesn't matter which party is in power or which president we have in the United States. Whomever the US president is, they claim, our foreign policy will be the same. Basically, the understanding is that the US will be an imperial bully and their rational for this is very well supported by history. (However, I'd propose the Pentagon and US military industrial complex is the real force behind US foreign policy.)

Anyway, there might be hope with Barack Obama. (Hope in that the blowback from poor foreign policy is minimized and aggression toward foreign states is reduced.) Here's an informative discussion on how Obama's foreign policy is differentiated from McCains and former, recent, presidents.
